Design Development Phase

This phase will take the approved Preliminary Design and develop a drawing set. This drawing set will be used to create an outline of specification and selections that need to be addressed. This phase is a good time to take the plans and start a preliminary budget based on the basic bones of the structure. This budget can then be used to confirm that the project meets the Program Document. Any adjustments that need to be made to keep the project within the scope of the Program Document can be made at this point. Keep in mind that the preliminary budget here may or may not include the appropriate allowances for selections. The more information you can provide the Builder about selections, the better this Preliminary Budget will be.
